Ruby Falls by Deborah Goodrich Royce

About The Book:

Like the chilling psychological thriller The Silent Patient, Deborah Goodrich Royce’s Ruby Falls is a nail-biting tale of a fragile young actress, the new husband she barely knows, and her growing suspicion that the secrets he harbors may eclipse her own.

On a brilliantly sunny July day, six-year-old Ruby is abandoned by her father in the suffocating dark of a Tennessee cave. Twenty years later, transformed into soap opera star Eleanor Russell, she is fired under dubious circumstances. Fleeing to Europe, she marries a glamorous stranger named Orlando Montague and keeps her past closely hidden.

Together, Eleanor and Orlando start afresh in LA. Setting up house in a storybook cottage in the Hollywood Hills, Eleanor is cast in a dream role—the lead in a remake of Rebecca. As she immerses herself in that eerie gothic tale, Orlando’s personality changes, ghosts of her past re- emerge, and Eleanor fears she is not the only person in her marriage with a secret.

In this thrilling and twisty homage to Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, the story ricochets through the streets of Los Angeles, a dangerous marriage to an exotic stranger, and the mind of a young woman whose past may not release her.

My thoughts

I don't know exactly what I expected when I picked up this book, but I got so much more. Honestly one of my favorite books so far this year! The writing was so beautiful and the storyline was...haunting. It had an eerie, disturbing gothic vibe...and I loved it! I literally couldn't put it down. As I got to know Eleanor, aka Ruby...don't call her that, it won't go over well at all.I began to question how reliable Eleanor really was, but time and time again her story seemed to check out. I was constantly on edge waiting for the other shoe to drop..and when it what a twist! An elderly neighbor that know all about Eleanor, yet they have never met... A marriage to a handsome stranger after a whirlwind romance...A move to Hollywood to become famous...intrigued yet? Oh and let's not forget that her father left her at age six at a tourist attraction...a mystery in itself right there! Gothic, dark and twisted...loved it! Huge shoutout to Suzy Approved Tours for having me along on this blog tour. Thank you Deborah Goodrich Royce for my beautiful gifted copy!

About The Author:

Deborah Goodrich Royce’s first novel, Finding Mrs. Ford, debuted in 2019 to rave reviews. She divides her time between

The Stranger in the Mirror by Liv Constantine

About The Book:

A diabolically twisty, psychologically unsettling novel about a woman with no recollection of her past.

Addison’s about to get married, but she’s not looking forward to the big day. It’s not her fiancĂ©; he’s a wonderful man. It’s because Addison doesn't know who she really is. A few years ago, a kind driver found her bleeding next to a New Jersey highway and rescued her. While her physical wounds healed, Addison’s memory never returned. She doesn’t know her real name. Or how she ended up injured on the side of a road. Or why she can’t shake the notion that she may have done something very, very bad . . .

In a posh home in the Boston suburbs, Julian tries to figure out what happened to his loving, caring wife, Cassandra, who disappeared without a trace two years ago. She would never have left him and their seven-year-old daughter Valentina of her own free will—or would she?

As these two lives intersect, The Stranger in the Mirror hooks readers with riveting drama, told with Liv Constantine’s hallmark blend of glamour, tense psychological thrills, and jaw-dropping twists.

My Thoughts

Yess! Liv Contantine has done it again! I have read and loved every single one of their books!

Addison is engaged to a wonderful guy..yet secretly inside she is freaking out. She can't remember her past...she wonders what she was running from the night she showed up in his town, battered and bloody...was she a victim or something else??

Meanwhile..many states away...Julian is looking for his missing wife..and I will leave it right there!

I loved this twisty psychological thriller! This book checked all the boxes for me- it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time...kept me up wayyy too late...kept my twisted thriller mind guessing until the very end.

Short, intense chapters are my absolute favorite! I flew through this book, because I needed answers! Who is this girl and what has she been through?? Or what has she done??

Highly recommend this one!

Huge shoutout to HaperCollins for my gifted copy! Thank you to Suzy Approved Tours for having me along on this book tour!
