The Arrangement by Kiersten Modglin

Wow!! This book!!! Seriously thriller lovers…if you are like me and apparently living under a rock and have not read this… I swear this is a MUST read!!! I had to refill my coffee cup ☕️ three times due to the book hangover I got!!

So Peter and Ainsley are going to have some major explaining to do if they think Santa 🎅 is going to be visiting this year!! 😂 I mean these two are like crazy means crazier!!

A married couple who decides to dabble in a little online dating to refresh their appreciation for each other…ummm what could go wrong?!

What in the actual hell was that ending?!  OMG!! Perfection!!  Pretty sure I woke the neighbors up when I screamed..whattt?!  5 mind blowing stars!!

This was my first book by this author and she came highly recommended to me from some trusted book buddies. I am definately going to be digging into her backlist!!

The Christmas Bookshop by Jenny Colgan

Perfect for the holidays! A brand-new heartwarming Christmas novel from the beloved New York Times bestselling author of The Bookshop on the Corner and Christmas at the Island Hotel.

Laid off from her department store job, Carmen has perilously little cash and few options. The prospect of spending Christmas with her perfect sister Sofia, in Sofia’s perfect house with her perfect children and her perfectly ordered yuppie life does not appeal.

Frankly, Sofia doesn’t exactly want her prickly sister Carmen there either. But Sofia has yet another baby on the way, a mother desperate to see her daughters get along, and a client who needs help revitalizing his shabby old bookshop. So Carmen moves in and takes the job.

Thrown rather suddenly into the inner workings of Mr. McCredie’s ancient bookshop on the picturesque streets of historic Edinburgh, Carmen is intrigued despite herself. The store is dusty and disorganized but undeniably charming. Can she breathe some new life into it in time for Christmas shopping? What will happen when a famous and charismatic author takes a sudden interest in the bookshop—and Carmen?  And will the Christmas spirit be enough to help heal her fractured family?

My Thoughts

I can't think of a better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with this book! This book was like a warm cup of cocoa on a cold day! It just gave me that fuzzy feeling that I can't get enough of during the holidays.

A bookstore, a story of starting over? Umm yes please! If that wasn't enough- let's throw in a good boy- bad boy love triangle! Sign this girl up!

When Carmen finds herself with no job, no man and no plan...Well she decides she has nothing to lose by moving in with her very pregnant sister and helping her out. Little does she realize that it will lead to her trying to save a lovely but rundown bookshop.

I absolutely loved the dynamics at play between the characters! Filled full of some of my favorite things...books, Christmas and a little drama! What was not to love? Will Carmen save the day? Will she choose naughty or nice? My lips are sealed!

Huge shoutout to my Partner Bibliolifestyle and William Morrow for my gifted copy!

The Secret Next Door by Rebecca Taylor

Release Date: November 9, 2021

About The Book:

It's the perfect neighborhood, filled with not-so-perfect people.

Alyson Tinsdale is giving her son the childhood she never had: a stable family, loving home, and a great school in a safe neighborhood. When they move into the home of her dreams in one of Denver's most sought-after developments, Alyson works hard to fit in and impress the other mothers.

Bonnie Sloan is the neighborhood matriarch. With her oldest son headed to Yale, and her youngest starting kindergarten, Bonnie is now pursuing her own long-held political aspirations. But it's her middle child, Elijah, and their private family struggles, that cast a shadow over her plans.

When the open space behind some of the most expensive homes gets slated for development into an amusement facility, the neighborhood becomes deeply divided. The personal pressures and community conflicts ratchet with every passing day, but it's when a thirteen-year-old boy is found dead beside the lake, that simmering tensions boil over into panic.

Gossip flows, lies are exposed, and accusations are made as cracks run through the community's once solid foundations. The neighborhood's faith in exterior appearances is eclipsed by the secrets every house keeps.

Rebecca Taylor, author of Her Perfect Life, returns with this fast-paced, engrossing novel that reminds us that nothing is ever as perfect as it seems.

My Thoughts

When Alyson insists that they move to the exclusive gated community...well her husband is less than pleased. You see...they can't afford the gorgeous home they are buying- again...Alyson does not care. She furnishes the home with the best of everything, she is absolutely desperate to fit in.

This book had everything! Drama, mystery, wine drinking...book club..yes book club!!! Did I mention these girls like their wine??? All is picture perfect- until it is not. When a neighborhood child is found murdered..well things get really interesting.

This book had me highly engaged the entire way. Not only was it entertaining- in a Real Housewives or a  Desperate Housewives type of way- which I love both! It was also a twisted domestic/thriller drama that kept me guessing. Every single person was a suspect on my list! The husband that locked his secrets in the basement, the neighbor who ranted constantly on social media or the mom who would get black out drunk?? Or maybe a complete stranger?? This seriously kept me guessing to the very end.

Thank you so much to SuzyApproved Tours, Rebecca Taylor and SourceBooks Landmark for my gifted copy.

About The Author:

Rebecca Taylor was born to a single British teen during a February blizzard in Green Bay, Wisconsin. When she was three, her mother met and married a US Marine. Like many children of military families, Rebecca spent the next fifteen years of her life moving. From Canada to Okinawa, and then all over the United States, she attended eight different schools before graduating high school.

Given that, she didn't really understand how people managed to stay in one place for more than twelve months. So, she spent her twenties working as an international flight attendant while pursuing degrees in psychology and sociology. It wasn't until she was pregnant with her first child and working on her graduate degree in psychology that she began writing fiction.

Rebecca has since written eight novels: ASCENDANT won the Colorado Book Award in 2014, and AFFECTIVE NEEDS was a finalist for the Romance Writers of America RITA Award in 2017. HER PERFECT LIFE was her first work of psychological fiction and was published by Sourcebooks in 2020.

Thankfully, Rebecca did eventually learn how to sit and stay. She currently lives in sunny Colorado with her husband, two teens, two dogs, two cats, two fish...there seems to be something about the number two for her.

Walking Among the Trees by Frank M. Oliva

Release Date: June 22, 2021

About The Book:

After notifying the bishop that a young girl possessed by an invisible demon must be exorcised immediately, Father Nathaniel Kerrigan is shocked when the bishop insists he perform the ritual. Panicked, Kerrigan calls on his old friend and trusted mentor, Monsignor Carmichael, to convince the bishop he should use another priest instead. But when Kerrigan claims he wants out because he has no experience with the preternatural, Carmichael fears there is much more at stake than Kerrigan's letting on. As Carmichael drags Kerrigan on a dark and painful journey through a secluded nature preserve, it soon becomes clear the real reason Kerrigan is so desperate to avoid the confrontation is that the demon inside the girl has a window into his hidden past.

My Thoughts

A little girl possessed by a demon...a priest with a past- that haunts him every single day...an exorcism...well hello spooky season read! This is the perfect time to pick up this book! I was so excited to have been invited along on this book tour!

A great debut that had me flipping the pages well into the night. The writing was superb. I am loving this creeptastic cover! It is the perfect vibe for this book.

As the plot builds and Father Nathaniel Kerrigan is asked...well basically told that he needs to be present for an exorcism of this young girl, well he is less than thrilled....I thought it was just because..well you know- it's an exorcism. However it went much deeper than that. Father Kerrigan has some inner demons of his own that he is struggling with.

I really enjoyed the backstory of what ultimately led to the secrets being revealed of why Kerrigan was so deeply distraught. Available now and a super creepy read.

My thanks to Suzy Approved Tours, Frank M Oliva and Sage Tower Publishing for my gifted copy!
