The Magic of Found Objects by Maddie Dawson

About The Book:

Release Date: August 1, 2021

From the bestselling author of Matchmaking for Beginners comes a feel-good story about becoming who you were meant to be all along.

Phronsie Linnelle was conceived at Woodstock in a serendipitous liaison between a free-spirited hippie and a farmer’s son and was born with magical wonder flickering in her DNA and rationality knit into her bones. All her life she’s been torn between the two. But now that she’s been betrayed by both love and the mother she once idolized, her rational side is winning.

So when her best friend from childhood proposes that they give up on romance and marry each other, Phronsie agrees. Who better to spend your life with than your best friend? Maybe the connection they already have is love. Maybe there’s no falling to be done. But immediately after they announce their engagement, she encounters someone who makes a very charming and compelling argument for revisiting romance.

While her even-keeled stepmother argues for the safety that comes with her new engagement and her mother relays messages from the universe to hold out for true love, Phronsie must look to her own heart to find the answers that have been there all along.

My Thoughts

I absolutely adored this book! All the stars in the sky for this one! That you so much to Suzy Approved Tours and Maddie Dawson for having me on this book tour.

When you are only a few chapters in...and you have to put down the book...to run to GR to see what other books this author has..then you message two people to tell them...OMG I love this book...well you know you have a good book in your hands...yep I did that!

Phronsie has grown up with a less than typical family life...her parents met at Woodstock...yes the one and only...and her free spirited mom Janet...who calls herself Tenaj..which is Janet backwards..is lacking a little in the "mothering" skills department...

Phronsie neverless with her less than perfect childhood is successful and ...normal..yet she just went on 44 dates and she can't find a match! So her lifelong BFF proposes they get married. Why not? Whatt? Do people really do this? Hmm maybe they do and they just don't tell us!

I LOVED everything about this book. The timelines that took us from past to present..the characters..I adored it all!! Phronsie girl..you have a place in my heart!!Now I am heading to Amazon to get myself Matchmaking for Beginners!! I love finding a "new to me" author! Thank you so SuzyApproved Tours for my gifted copy!

After Happily Ever After by Leslie A Rasmussen

2021 Next Generation Independent Book Awards for the category of Chick Lit.

Finalist in the 2021 Book Excellence Awards for the category of Marriage.

 Release Date: April 6, 2021

About The Book:

Maggie Dolin is forty-five and isn’t dealing with getting older very well. Seventeen years ago, she gave up her job in publishing to raise her daughter, Gia—but now her only child is about to leave for college, and Maggie isn’t sure what her new purpose will be. She’s been the caretaker and nurturer for so long that she can’t even remember the last time someone took care of her. She wishes Jim, her husband of nineteen years, would take that role on—but he’s been distracted and disconnected, and she’s convinced he’s hiding something from her. Her self-involved, judgmental mother and resentful brother, meanwhile, are certainly no help, and her father—the only person in her life who’s always been there for her and asked nothing in return—is dealing with increasingly serious health issues, leaving Maggie without her rock.

As all these stressors pile on, a chance meeting with a younger man causes Maggie to act in a way that is completely out of character for her. As she gets deeper in, she’s forced to make some big decisions about what she wants and deserves—decisions that could change her life forever.

After Happily Ever After deals with love, marriage, family, the empty nest, aging parents and what happens when they all come crashing down at the same time.

My Thoughts

This book gave me all the feels. It definitely was an emotional roller coaster for me...I laughed...probably inapproately...so many times!

Maggie suddenly finds her world unraveling...her daughter is going off to college...her husband won't give her the time of day..and her dad is getting forgetful..she wonders how she got here..

Oh Maggie..I feel you girl! I loved this author's witty writing. I seriously did find myself laughing...when I shouldn't. I found Maggie so relatable..she felt pushed to the brink, invisible and full of regrets...however it was balanced off with humor so it made it a fun read. Who hasn't looked back and wondered...what if?! I know I have..

I did yell and scream at Maggie a couple of times..but she didn't listen...step away from the hot guy at the gym...there is nothing to see here! I ended up liking Maggie and appreciating what she was going through...basically life...

This is a fantastic debut that I was fully invested in! Thank you so much to @shewritespress for my gifted copy!

In My Dreams I Hold a Knife by Ashley Winstead

SYNOPSIS:

Six friends.
One college reunion.
One unsolved murder.

Ten years after graduation, Jessica Miller has planned her triumphant return to her southern, elite Duquette University, down to the envious whispers that are sure to follow in her wake. Everyone is going to see the girl she wants them to see—confident, beautiful, indifferent. Not the girl she was when she left campus, back when Heather Shelby's murder fractured everything, including the tight bond linking the six friends she'd been closest to since freshman year.

But not everyone is ready to move on. Not everyone left Duquette ten years ago, and not everyone can let Heather's murder go unsolved. Someone is determined to trap the real killer, to make the guilty pay. When the six friends are reunited, they will be forced to confront what happened that night—and the years' worth of secrets each of them would do anything to keep hidden.

Told in racing dual timelines, with a dark campus setting and a darker look at friendship, love, obsession, and ambition, In My Dreams I Hold A Knife is an addictive, propulsive read you won't be able to put down.

My Thoughts

I can't even express how much I loved this book! This my friends is a thriller...it checked all the thriller boxes for me! It is defiantly on my list of favorites for the year!

Dark academia setting.... Yes Please!

Twists that literally made me gasp...YEP...✅

Past and Present POV's.....✅

Utterly evil, calcuated and twisted? ...Absolutely ✅

Book hangover?  ✅✅✅✅✅

A college reunion at the prestigious  Duquette University...home of the infamous East House Seven...a tight little knit group that ruled the halls, ten years ago. They were the definition of cool, everyone wanted to be them....Oh how the mighty have fallen...when one of them is found brutally murdered in their dorm and one of them is accused...😳

In a University such as Duquette, second only to Harvard by the way...competitiveness is at an all time high...as to be expected...yet...will it make one of them kill to be at the top? Will jealously push them over the edge?

The character development is so well done!  The past fills us in on the present cast and we get a good feel for what has shaped them and who they really are. Sure they have changed in 10 years, who hasn't?! 🤷Yet who are they really? Deep down inside? Not the persona that they have displayed for all their fellow classmates, but they real person they are- when no one is looking.

Plain jane Jessica Miller always felt like an outsider in their group, not good enough. Even though she dated one of the most popular guys at school, she felt like a fake. Now she is an Upper East Side girl named partner at one of the most sought after positions at a consulting company in NYC. She can't wait for reunion day...to show them all what she has made of herself....no matter what it took...she made it to the top...did the others?

What a jaw dropping, page flipping, edge of your seat debut this was! I absoutely loved, loved , loved it! I can't  recommend it enough. 💗

Thank you so much to BiblioLifestyle for having me along on this tour. Thank you Partners @bibliolifestyle @bookmarked for my gorgeous gifted copy! One of my most anticipated books of the year and it exceeded my expectations! Run and get a copy!
