The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell

About the book:

Soon after her twenty-fifth birthday, Libby Jones returns home from work to find the letter she’s been waiting for her entire life. She rips it open with one driving thought: I am finally going to know who I am.

She soon learns not only the identity of her birth parents, but also that she is the sole inheritor of their abandoned mansion on the banks of the Thames in London’s fashionable Chelsea neighborhood, worth millions. Everything in Libby’s life is about to change. But what she can’t possibly know is that others have been waiting for this day as well—and she is on a collision course to meet them.

Twenty-five years ago, police were called to 16 Cheyne Walk with reports of a baby crying. When they arrived, they found a healthy ten-month-old happily cooing in her crib in the bedroom. Downstairs in the kitchen lay three dead bodies, all dressed in black, next to a hastily scrawled note. And the four other children reported to live at Cheyne Walk were gone.

The can’t-look-away story of three entangled families living in a house with the darkest of secrets.

MY THOUGHTS

Well…well…well… look πŸ‘€ who is late to the party πŸ₯³…AGAIN…yes that would be me.🀷‍♀️ I keep seeing amazing reviews for The Family Remains… so of course I had to run πŸƒ‍♀️ out and get this one.. because..FOMO 🀷‍♀️… I absolutely LOVED it!!! πŸ–€

16 Cheyne Walk…prestigious address.. home of the socialite πŸ₯‚couple the Lambs… the “It” couple literally fell off the face of the earth…never to be seen again…πŸ€”…until they showed up on the evening news…and it was not for Mrs. Lamb’s choice of shoes πŸ‘ …. This time it was because they were found dead on their kitchen floor…😳

Was this a cult?? Was it a extended family?? What the hell was this?? 😳 Whatever it was… I couldn’t get enough!!! If I had to use one word to describe this book it is… creeepy!! 😬Just how our thriller loving hearts πŸ–€ like it!! πŸ˜‰

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any more creepy or disturbing…it did…😳…that ending!!🀯🀯🀯🀯 I literally said OH… MY… GOD… out loud…I am SO excited that I am a slacker and just now read this book..πŸ˜‚ Now I can read the next book in a couple of weeks!! πŸ™Œ I CAN NOT WAIT to see where this picks back up!! 😍

πŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€ Have you read this one?? Are you as excited as I am for The Family Remains?? I have only read two other @lisajewelluk books and enjoyed them.. but THIS is my favorite so far!! What backlist book of @lisajewelluk would you start with?

5 creeptastic ⭐️ stars!! So flipping good! This read like a true crime book to me… Would you live in a house where bodies were found on the kitchen floor?? 😳… Nope… not this girl!!

The Lies I Tell by Julie Clark

About the book:

Two women. Many aliases.

Meg Williams. Maggie Littleton. Melody Wilde. Different names for the same person, depending on the town, depending on the job. She's a con artist who erases herself to become whoever you need her to be―a college student. A life coach. A real estate agent. Nothing about her is real. She slides alongside you and tells you exactly what you need to hear, and by the time she's done, you've likely lost everything.

Kat Roberts has been waiting ten years for the woman who upended her life to return. And now that she has, Kat is determined to be the one to expose her. But as the two women grow closer, Kat's long-held assumptions begin to crumble, leaving Kat to wonder who Meg's true target is.

The Lies I Tell is a twisted domestic thriller that dives deep into the psyches and motivations of two women and their unwavering quest to seek justice for the past and rewrite the future.

Make Me Disappear by Jessica Payne

About the book:

By the time I realized the truth about Daniel it was too late. But the truth about me? He never saw that coming…
Dr Daniel Ashcroft was perfect: handsome, romantic, protective. I thought I was so lucky.
But then I heard the rumors about his previous girlfriend, that she had vanished without a trace. That’s when I found the cameras in my apartment.

I was trapped. Daniel made it clear I couldn’t leave him, not without risking everyone I loved. I had to disappear, so I arranged my own kidnapping.
I should have known Daniel would never let me get away that easily. But he could never have predicted what I’d do next…

MY THOUGHTS

So what is the last book that you can say #bookstagrammademedoit ??? This is definitely that book! My FOMO was out of control!! Guess what?! I LOVED it!! 😍 I know...I know...we are on Twitter...but Bookstagram really drove me to picking this up!

I love love love crazzzy books!! She arranged her own kidnapping! 😳😳😳I know right??! Dating the handsome Dr. Ashcroft… I mean she’s one lucky girl πŸ‘±‍♀️right?!!! Until she figures out what Daniel really is…. Controlling…Conniving and Fricking Crazy!!! 🀫 This girl wants out…πŸƒ‍♀️… no matter what the cost! πŸ˜‰

This book was such a page turner!! Twisted..Edge of my seat.. and Revenge served at its best!! πŸ˜‚ You go Noelle!! We nurses πŸ‘©‍⚕️ have to stick together!! πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ I can tell you I was team Noelle alll the way!! πŸ–€

I seriously don’t know how this is a debut!! I can’t wait to read @jessicapayne.writer next book!! She killed it! ❤️
