Magic Under the Mistletoe by Lucy Coleman

Christmas and romance are in the air...
It's December 23rd and while everyone else is rushing home for the holidays, workaholic Leesa Oliver is dreading switching on her out-of-office for the festive season. And it seems her equally driven boss, Cary Anderson, isn't relishing spending Christmas at his family's country estate either.
So together, they draft an unexpected Christmas contract: They'll spend half of the holidays with each other's families, pretending to be a couple. Leesa knows the insufferably good-looking Cary will make her Christmas more bearable, but what happens after the last of the mince pies have been eaten...?
Leesa signed off on a sensible business agreement, but somewhere, amongst the fairy lights and carols something seems to have changed... It seems there might just be some magic under the mistletoe this Christmas!

My Thoughts

What do you do when you don't have time for love? What a cute, festive, fun story this was. Leesa Oliver might have met her match for the title "workaholic" with her boss Cary Anderson. Working on a project day and night, they almost miss Christmas. While neither want to admit they are dreading going home for the holidays...they are. They both are tired of the endless questions about if they have met anyone yet....and then they have an idea....

After Leesa finds her marriage ending in divorce thanks to her husband and her  BFF, she immerses herself into her work even more. How difficult would it be to fake a relationship with her handsome boss Cary? I mean he is gorgeous and can be quite charming when he wants to be. After all, he was named after Cary Grant. His grandmother that raised him is a famous romance novelist that Leesa is enamored with. So why can't this little arrangement work? They named their arrangement The Santa Clause! How cute is that?!

When normally grumpy, uptight Cary is forced to turn on his charming side for the family affair, well Leesa could find herself actually liking him.........quite a bit in fact. Hmm what is a girl to do? Usually I would think okay here is where we just wait for them to get together. Yet this book had me guessing almost to the very end. Even though they clearly had some attraction to each other, they were both so unwilling to be in a relationship.

Perhaps the best part of the book was the lovely Cressida- novelist and Cary's grandmother, she was old time glam and I loved her! Were they able to fool Cressida and the rest of the family? At some point the facade has to end, right?! Filled with great Christmas spirit and a whole bunch of family drama, this was a perfect holiday read!

Thank you so much to Rachel for having me along on this fun blog tour! Lucy Coleman - I loved this book!
