Passport to Happiness by Carrie Stone

An inspiring and escapist read – Eat, Pray, Love meets Bridget Jones!

Will the trip of her dreams…
Everly Carter is bored.
With her job, with her single status and with the never ending line of rubbish men on Tinder.  Tired of going through the motions of seeming happy, Everly wants to be happy!

So, in a spontaneous moment of bravery (perhaps spurred on by a few cocktails) Everly books a holiday.  Time away, alone, to find out what she really wants from life.
Become the journey of her lifetime?
Everly’s search for happiness takes her to picturesque Swiss villages and the sunsets of glamourous Bermuda.  But with every new stamp in her passport, Everly still feels as though something is missing…
Could it be that true happiness is hard to find, until she finds herself?

 My Thoughts

Wow! Every so often you put down a book and upon reflecting on it you discover it just made your heart feel happy. This is how I felt after reading this book. Carrie Stone managed to create a story of the struggles of trying to feel fulfilled in life that I am sure we can all relate to. She managed to do this is a lighthearted way that was highly entertaining.

Everly Carter had a life changing realization during another disappointing first date, much thanks to an internet dating site. She realized that this is not the life she signed up for. That her life is not reflecting the girl she is in  her soul. She envisioned a much different self when she thought about what her thirties would be like. That is when she headed to the restroom, booked herself a spontaneous flight to Switzerland from the bathroom stall and ditched her loser blind date. How is that for spontaneous?!

We find ourselves traveling with Everly to Switzerland, Bermuda and Bali as she searches for a deep down self fulfillment and happiness. Each destination she discovers something new about herself. She slowly begins to realize that it is not about your physical surroundings and material things that truly bring happiness, it is what fills your heart up and makes you feel whole. For Everly it was her love of animals and volunteering to help these animals. She made friends with similar interests and began to realize that her "party friends" just did not fill that void in her life.

I loved this book and the journey that Everly took. I feel that everyone goes through something very similar in their life. Of course we did not all get to travel to the exotic destinations that Everly did but we still go through our own journey to find what fulfills us in life.

This book  put a smile on my face! I enjoyed it so much. I was so excited to have the chance to be included on this blog tour! Thank you so much to Rachel Gilbey for having me along and Carrie Stone for brightening my day with this feel good book.
